She practiced for 3 years in Sacramento at a small animal/exotics practice before returning home to Reno. Dr Luikart enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 dogs. Her twins, Rita and Jackson, were born in July 2009, and now occupy all her spare time! Dr. Luikart became a partner in the practice in 2011.

My name is Kristina and I have been a licensed veterinary technician for 2 years. I’ve worked as a veterinary assistant for almost 10 years and after my graduation from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology, the Nevada State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners approved an opportunity for me to take my licensure exam, which I passed with flying colors. In my free time I enjoy horseback riding, participating as a volunteer for the Reno Rodeo, jogging with my Labrador “Wyatt” and pug “Bambino”, and continuing my education. I absolutely love every aspect of being a technician and providing care to animals of all shapes and sizes, and my favorite moments are the ones when a family gets to see their pet after a procedure or a hospitalization and take them home.

Marcella started working kennels in July of 1999 to support schooling for human nursing, but learned that it was a lot more interested in the animal field. She wanted to learn more, so she worked her way up to an assistant and then attended college to become a Veterinary Technician. Marcella graduated from the Veterinary Technology Program at TMCC May 2005. She loves the fact that she can perform in laboratory, anesthesia, radiology, dentistry areas without having to specialize in each separately as they are in the human fields, making her a jack of all trades. In her spare time she tends to her garden,  play video games, and spends time with her husband, son and daughter. She has three dogs, four cats, and one day she hopes to have a farm with chickens, ducks, and a dairy cow!

I have my BS in Pre-Veterinary Medicine from California Polytechnic University, Pomona. While in school I was a veterinary assistant for 11years. After graduating I moved to San Diego and worked for Sea World and was able to work in the Bird House with flamingos, penguins, multiple varities of geese and duck and one giant black swan named Gloria Swanson. I have experience as an adoption counceler with the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA. I moved here 13 years ago and got my LVT license through Community College of Southern Nevada in 2001 and have had wonderful experinces at clinics in Reno and Sparks.
